Fit and Function

For casual shoes, I generally fall between a women’s size 8 and 8.5.  I had met with Oboz in person, which included getting my feet measured by one of their team members.  The sizing process consisted of measuring my foot length when I was seated and when I was standing - both feet.  My feet are about a half size different, which only adds to the complexity.  Their recommendation was that I should be in either a 7.5 or size 8 women’s shoe.  We went with the size 8 to allow for sock variations and foot swelling.

Immediately out of the box, the Oboz Bozeman II Low shoes were incredibly comfortable.  I have challenging feet: torn plantar plate, achilles tendonitis, and lately, a broken toe that is very slow to heal.  For casual shoes, I prefer to not wear the custom insoles that I need for running that manage my torn plantar plate issue.  This means that I need a shoe with a fair amount of cushion and support that helps to keep my metatarsals pain free.

During my testing of the Oboz Bozeman II Low, I wore them on a racecation trip to Milwaukee.  I’ve also been wearing them as my daily work and hang out shoe.  And in a show of versatility, I occasionally wear them to the gym for leg day.

The Oboz Bozeman II Low shoes have taken the top spot in my casual shoe collection as the shoe that I wear the most often. I have literally walked miles (and miles) in these shoes.  These shoes have delivered in comfort and versatility without making any modifications needing insoles. 

In addition to being super comfortable, they’re also stylish.  They have a slight hiker aesthetic while still being casual enough to wear around town or to business casual work environments.

I’ve been wearing them several times per week for two months.  Aside from some marking on the toe caps, the shoes are holding up well.  I even had an unfortunate indecent on an airplane where my seat neighbor dumped an entire jack and coke down my leg and onto my shoes.  The shoes - remarkably - cleaned up easily.
