Fit and Function
The TrailHeads Women's Ponytail Running Headband is a wide style headband that covers my forehead and ears well, while being stretchy enough to adjust coverage for warmth.

TrailHeads Women's Ponytail Running Headband - Adrenaline Series
I’m the type of runner that overdresses for the start of my run and then overheats. I like a headband for two reasons:
- Smaller overall size makes for easy mid-run stashing inside a pocket for when I get hot
- The headband option keeps my ears and forehead warm while keeping the top of my head uncovered to vent heat.
The Adrenaline Series is a great option for runners who tend to need a little, but not a lot of warmth. The fabric is double-ply but super thin and stretchy. For me, this is the sweet spot for a headband. It keeps my ears and forehead warm but doesn’t feel heavy or overwhelming. The headband is also easy enough to move vertically along my forehead to adjust for wind and warmth needs. The 4 way stretch means that the headband doesn’t move as I run, which is also great.
Other nice features to the TrailHeads Women's Ponytail Running Headband are reflective accents. The front has an array of reflective dots, allowing the headband to reflect back light from several angles across the front of your head. There’s also a reflective strip of dots across the back, just above the ponytail hole.

And my favorite feature has to be the ponytail hole. This feature is best suited for low ponytails that are along the nape of your neck. High ponytails create an odd angle for the forehead part of the headband. I’ve run with both a low ponytail that’s been routed through the headband and with a high ponytail that’s set above the headband. Both versions work well; it just depends on your hair length and preferences for how you use the headband.
I’ve been using the TrailHeads Women's Ponytail Running Headband on cool evening walks and cooler after work runs. The headband is the perfect texture and weight, feeling soft and weightless while keeping your ears warm but not overheating your head. I don’t overheat as often as I do with a running beanie, but when I do get too warm, the headband easily stashes in a pocket or loops around my wrist.
Closing Thoughts
The TrailHeads Women's Ponytail Running Headband - Adrenaline Series is a great option for runners with longer hair that needs managing on colder outside adventures. The lightweight and stretchy fabric feels great and the reflective accents are a nice safety bonus.
The TrailHeads Women's Ponytail Running Headband - Adrenaline Series comes in regular and reflective options and is available in three colorways (black, heather grey, heather blue).
